Teachers In Sport

About Us

Teachers In Sport began in London, England when a primary school teacher named Sarah walked into a tennis centre we were running in Wimbledon and asked ‘can I book some private lessons?’ Of course that was easily done. However, the request came with a twist. The lessons Sarah wanted were not to sort out a dodgy backhand or faulty second serve. She wanted us to teach her how to teach tennis. Thus was born the first Teachers In Sport Professional Development course.

When we scratched the surface we found that in London there was a huge demand from schools and teachers who felt under skilled when it came to teaching PE and Sports. In quick time we sourced a team of expert trainers in their respective sports. Shortly after, courses all over London were being conducted and PE teachers were becoming more confident with their teaching of PE and sport.

Australian Operation

Our expansion to Sydney, Australia occurred in 2008 and we set about delivering professional development courses modified to suit the NSW Curriculum. Again, a team has been put together which includes trainers, many of which are qualified PE teachers or expert practitioners in their respective sports. With their invaluable input and our experience in running PD courses for PE teachers, a series of courses which are constantly being refined to suit the needs of the teachers that we train were developed and are executed on a weekly basis to satisfied clients.
